Lower Eyelid Surgery – Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid surgery, also known as lower blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that can address issues such as under-eye bags, wrinkles, and sagging skin. The procedure involves removing excess skin and fat from the lower eyelids, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.  Laser resurfacing can be used to help tighten the lower eyelid skin as well.

The procedure typically takes around 1-2 hours, and most patients can return to work and normal activities within 1-2 weeks, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks. The results of lower eyelid surgery can be long-lasting, but it’s important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and protect the delicate skin around the eyes from sun exposure and other environmental factors.

As with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved, so it’s important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine if lower eyelid surgery is the right option for your individual needs and goals.
