Lip Lift

A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to enhance the appearance of the upper lip by shortening the distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose. This procedure can help to create a more youthful and defined lip contour, as well as improve the overall balance and harmony of the facial features. While a lip lift can create more “vermillion show”, which refers to the visible pink portion of the upper lip, it does not add volume to the lip itself. The goal of the procedure is to enhance the shape and definition of the upper lip by repositioning the lip and reducing the amount of skin between the nose and the upper lip.  For a procedure desiring more volume, hyaluronic acid or fat transfer can be an adjunct to a lip lift.  During the procedure, a small incision is made at the base of the nose, and excess skin is removed to lift the upper lip. The procedure typically takes about an hour to complete and can be performed under local anesthesia or sedation.
